Welcome Spring

I thought I had a lot to say.. but it looks like I just have lots of pics for this post. I guess most of it is just me excited for a new lens. Speaking of, I’m about to order a 135L this week. Should be epic.

Boba with Vi and Kay!

Took Kay to the beach for the first time this year. The weather was perfect, just the water was a little chilly. Pics:

24L[ove] <3

So today I got my first L lens evar. What makes this weird is that my sister and Krystle are looking over my shoulder as I write this, but no matter, I’ll still profess my love for this new lens haha. They’re talking at the same time and its making it really hard to think..

Anyway! I skipped my transport class so I can wait for my lens to come to my door because I had to sign for it. Figures he’d come at like 7pm after I’ve been waiting all day.

Right when he came I flew out the door and got the box from him, walked inside and tore the box open for the lens, I think I broke some record for ripping open boxes. haha

My only test subject this evening was my reluctant daughter. I still got some pretty good candid pictures of her which I’m happy with and im anxious to test it further.

Soooo without further ado, here are some of my first pictures I shot with the 24L:

Round Two

February 9, 2011 Leave a comment

AHH, round two of testing this week. I swear it feels relentless. Two tests coming up, one in Thermo and one in Strengths. I’m actually feeling really confident about both tests — which is not really motivation to study. Also, there’s this energy lab. Damn this class sucks.

But, in happy news: I ordered my first L lens today. It’s a 24mm 1.4 L. I’m super excited to start using it. It should be here by this weekend and I’ll finally have some cool pictures to put in POTW.

LOVE [music] Stimulation

Initially I had a lot of music to share for this blog post but then I bought my Ultra 13 tickets and I posted it there.

I’ve been listening to my Deadmau5 CD to help me study and work out. It’s just perfect. I think my favorite song on there is:

Deadmau5 – Sofi Needs a Ladder

Deadmau5 – Right this Second

On the topic of Ultra, I think I’m most excited to see Skrillex.. a weird departure seeing as my favorite genre of electronic is trance, house, breaks, dubstep, dnb — respectively. Here is a hard hitting dub song for you though.

Designer Drugs – Drop Down (Haydn Hoffman Dubstep Remix)

Mord Fustang – The Electric Dream

I bought my tickets. Yes, it was worth blogging about. 45 more days as of the writing of this post. I can hardly wait.

Even though this will be my shortest post… probably EVER, I can’t forget to post some music for the LOVE [music] Stimulation part of my blog:

trance (arguable house) — sounds a lot like Deadmau5’s style..

Alex O’Rion – Changing Pace

I may be shot for this but, I’m not a big fan of Kaskade.. but the remixes of his songs.. now that’s another story.. case in point:

Kaskade — Fire In Your New Shoes (Sultan & Ned Shepard Electric Daisy Remix)

I swear vocal drum and bass songs.. that are actually good are the rarest finds of all and I’m certainly happy to have found this one:

Skepta – Rescue Me (Sigma Remix)

Just saw “The Socal Network”. Very great movie. I relate a lot to the main character, Mark Z. Just the way he thinks quickly and is very witty is how I aspire to be, albeit more compassionate. Anyway, on to the song, this played in the background of the clubbing scene. Very awesome.

Dennis de Laat – Sound Of Violence

So yesterday was a great day. I had my last test of two this week for which I deactivated my Facebook and was at the library every night. It felt like it paid off initially. My first test was on Tuesday of this week (2/1) and I felt pretty confident. What saddened me was, that night, Skrillex was playing at a club in Gainesville (like 1.5 hrs away) and I couldn’t go because I still had my transport test yesterday. After taking it I feel really confident about an A. Here’s to hoping! The rest of this week I’m just coasting till the weekend, hence the title.
